transformer is divided into two categories: voltage transformer and current transformer. Its main functions are: to accurately transmit the voltage and current information of the primary system to the relevant equipment on the secondary side; Transform the high voltage and large current of the primary system into low voltage (standard value) and small current (standard value) on the secondary side, standardize and miniaturize the devices such as measuring, metering instruments and relays, and reduce the insulation requirements for secondary equipment; the secondary side equipment and the secondary system are well isolated from the high-voltage equipment of the primary system in terms of electricity, thus ensuring the safety of the secondary equipment and personnel.

Both are special transformers! Commonly used in instrument signal acquisition,

voltage transformer (PT) is used to convert voltage, generally high voltage (such as 110KV,10KV) can be converted into conventional voltage, 380V,220V, which can be used by ordinary instruments, so that the instrument can display. The voltage transformer can be opened for the second time, but it must not be short-circuited

current transformer (CT) to convert large current signals (hundreds of amperes, thousands of amperes) into small currents that are convenient for current meters.

The secondary current transformer can be short-circuited, but must not be open-circuited.

When newly installing PT and CT and putting them into operation or replacing PT and CT secondary cables, it is necessary to check the correctness of PT and CT wiring, which is the end with the same name!
